MQ: Sarah Bergen, October retreat leader
With flaming red hair, Sarah conquers each task she undertakes including college, grad school, teaching high school, and now living on next to nothing while attending seminary. She is happy to be back in Fresno where she earned her BA in English in 2002. At UC Davis she completed a Master’s in Education, and she enjoyed four years in urban and rural classrooms, teaching English. After four more years in high school as a teacher (maybe she should have 2 high school diplomas!), she is delving into student life again as a student in the Master of Arts in Theology program at MB Biblical Seminary. Most recently she has joined the seminary as staff, working full-time as an assistant to the Admissions and Public Relations Departments. Sarah enjoys going for walks and playing with her dachshunds Sadie and Smokey. She also is passionate about literature and enjoys discussing books she has read with old friends from FPU and church. Sarah spent her pre-college years in Shafter, California where she was witness to the passage of time through the seasons of farming, as she grew up on the Cotton Research Station where her Dad still works. If you have cheesecake, a good book recommendation, or a thought-provoking movie to watch, you have a good chance of catching her attention!
